Busy Saturday

I just had a busy saturday. My husband and I started our day early, then afterwards, ran errands. Twas a really busy day but I am glad we were able to spend time together as a couple.

We went to buy some stuffs we need at Costco and at the same time looked for new treadmill. The motor of my husband's old treadmill burned out so we badly need new one. So first check on Chicks, as they are currently having closeout sales but the treadmills they have are not my husband's kind of thing.

So we went to Costco and we found one that my husband like. Then have to go back home and get a truck (aka Pick up in the Philippines) and went back to Costco to purchase the treadmill.

Then I worked at 3:30pm while my husband took Savannah to Kaiser for her doctor's appointment. Savannah missed the classes for the entire week, as she is sick. So the doctor's finding is that Savannah has brochitis and prescribed to her some inhaler and other medications.

So I got home at 7:30pm and witnessed my husband's new treadmill inaguration. He ran for 25 minutes, an average of 10.4 mph. Whew!

Now we just finished our dinner and relaxing and soon, off to bed...goodnight bloggers...

XML Challenge

IDUG is sponsoring a contest for developers (students, professionals and hobbyists) to increase awareness and familiarity with XQuery, XML and DB2. The contest has five separate tracks for individuals of varying skill levels. You may enter one track or all five!

This competition consists of five different contests aimed at students and professionals alike. Each contest offers its own recognition and set of prizes. The range of skills encompasses those with a passing interest in XML and database technology to those with hardcore programming skills in DB2. The tracks include:

1. Video Contest: Upload a video, judged by the community, prizes awarded monthly
2, Gadget Contest: Create a small widget or gadget, judged by the community, prizes awarded monthly
3. XQuery Challenge: Answer a series of questions by developing queries in XQuery. All correct answers (answer and query structure) entered to win larger prizes

Staying Home

I did not go to the gym today. I have sore knees and I doubt it if I can work out. So I just decided to call it my day off from working out.

Our dvd for Kung Fu Panda from Netflix arrived yesterday, so I just relaxed and watched the movie. Not that impressive but its alright. Now I am just watching Wowowee on TFC. I asked my husband to unsubscribe to TFC because I seldom watch it. Actually, I think this is my first time to watch TFC for this year. So I told my husband to just unsubscribe because its just a wasted money every month. I told him that last month. I guess I have to tell him again later because apparently, he forgot.

I know of one little fellow who loves it when i stay home, my yorkie. He is now cuddled in my arms as i write about him. He is a lover and lovable. i just love my dog and it makes me so happy to see him happy and contented with me at home.

Anyhow, almost weekend friends. Rejoice! Have a great weekend

Wireless Router

Our wireless router is not working properly anymore. We constantly get disconnected and it is so inconvenient.

So I told my husband that we badly need a new wireless router. And not just an ordinary router. I want one that is durable and dependable. Besides I rely so much on my wireless connection for my blogging.

So I am planning to shop around for new wireless router. I shop in stores and online. Of course, when I shop online, ShopWiki is my favorite site. When you visit the site and do your search, you will be guided to different sites that will cater to your needs. These sites are proven and tested to be reliable and trustworthy. Its the ShopWiki way.

Traditional shopping sites will only show you stores that have PAID for placement, but ShopWiki will give a shopper everything. For shoppers like me, this means finding anything and everything for sale on the web at ShopWiki.com. More products from more stores means better deals and savings.

So need a new wireless router? Anything else? Let shopwiki help you find the sites that offer best wireless routers at affordable prices.

Wondering...

My first year wedding anniversary is coming but until now, I have no idea what to give to my husband. Definitely not a baby! No No No No!

I really don't know what to give to him. I want it to be something that is special at the same time he can use everyday. Think Think Think!

Anyhow, I started surfing the net for the most popular wedding gift items. But until now, I still can't decide. Tough!

Work last night was boring. I hate it when the business is slow, as it makes my working hours run so slow as well. I like it when we are busy, as I hardly notice the time and next thing I know, its time for me to go home. But when its slow, it makes me feel like I have been working for hours and when I check for the time, only 5 minutes have gone by! Bummer!

Anyhow, I am off today and I will go and work out then come home and hopefully be productive. AJA!

Bathroom Improvements

When we bought our house, it is sold as it is. Although the house is in pretty good condition, we still plan to make alot of improvements and some minor repairs and upgrades.

One of the areas that needs improvement is our bathroom. First we need another soapdish, as the one that we have can't really hold our soap. We oftentimes find our soap on the shower basin. And I specifically told my husband I want a new shower head. I don't like that one that we have.

Alot of companies nowadays have good selection of shower accessories but in reality, only a few of them has the brands that are known for durability and reliability. With FairField Bathrooms Direct, you have a wide selection of bathroom accessories for your bathrooms. They have the brands that you can count on, like Kudos Shower etc.

So what are your ideal standard bathrooms? I want mine to be simple but elegant.

Tuesday Agenda

I started my tuesday early. Set the alarm at 6am but finally got off from bed around 6:27am. Shared a cup of coffee with my husband then when he went upstairs to take a shower., I cooked him something for breakfast.

Then after everybody left, I prepared myself for my interview with the school district. It was scheduled at 10am. Oh well, I arrived there 30 minutes earlier. By the way, I applied as an Instructional Aide.

The interview went well. I will just wait for another call from them to take me to the next level. The next person who will call me will direct me to the rest of the process. I just can't tell if I am hired but it sounded like I am. Oh I am confused so lets just cross the bridge when we get there ok?hahah.

Now I am just relaxing, watching my sick stepdaughter play video game online and then I have to go to work at 5pm.

JOLLIBEE!!

Just 5 minutes away from our house, a new business center is under construction. My husband told me that Jollibee will open one branch there. I was so happy and excited.

This morning, I forgot my phone in my husband's car so I have to drive to his workplace to get it. On my way home, I passed by that soon-to-be-business center and I looked up to see the notice posted. I saw the face of Jollibee! Woohoo!! Suki!hahaha

That made me smile and I just can't wait. I just miss Jollibee foods. Actually I miss Filipino foods and I am not a good cook. So saddening!

Anyhow, bloggers in Oceanside and the nearby cities will no longer need to drive an hour to get to downtown San Diego to taste Jollibee! We will have one Jollibee store in our place. BEE HAPPY! hahahaha

Virtual Protection Network (VPN)

I read a month ago in one of the community sites I joined about a girl's family in the Philippines got hacked in YM. And it cost them 15 thousand pesos. I am not going to tell you the complete detail of this. But this unfortunate thing happens and everyone can be a victim by hackers.

So we all need protection. With Proxy Virtual Protection Network, you will be protected against the hackers. The first thing every hacker needs to know is his target's Proxy IP address, but with WSC, hackers, troyan horses, will only see the proxy's IP server address. They become your virtual firewall.

Almost a Year!

Yes! We are approaching our First Year Wedding Anniversary! Whew! Time runs so fast. I can't believe I will be married for a year next month!

I can still reminisce February of last year, I was so busy gathering documents for my interview. Such a nerve-wrecking experience. I always have the tendency to imagine what lies ahead. So I did imagine what would happen if my visa was denied. That must not happen because my ex-fiance (now called my husband) already pruchased the ticket (talking about being excited huh?).

So I was scheduled for an interview March 10 2008. And my ex-fiance purchased the ticket for March 20, as our wedding is set on March 29. And we were hoping the consul will grant us our request for visa pick up. Chances were, requests for visa pick up usually get denied.

So came March 10, 2008. My scheduled time was 7:00am. Arrived 5:30am and was just sitting outside the embassy trying to collect myself while waiting for the embassy to open. After an hour, we were allowed to enter its premises. Impressive building I must say.

Anyhow, I went through all the processes, from submitting the forms, finger scanning and pre screening by a not-so-friendly young Filipina Consul who confused with with tons of questions, mostly dates. Whew! I was so down-hearted after that initial interview.

So my time came for me to be interviewed by the American Consul. My age estimate for him is in his middle 30s to early 40s. A good-looking American (but not as good looking as my husband. Yeahbah!). He was so nice, asked me about 4 questions then uttered the most wonderful statement for that day, "WELCOME TO AMERICA". And of course, my request for visa pick-up was approved! Yeahbah Yeahbah!

March 12, I was contacted by phone that my visa was ready for pick-up. So everything went smoothly and worth the sacrifices. And still worth it.

Now I was asked that if I am to turn back the hands of time, will I still be here? The answer is a big YES! Without hesitation, without regret, without doubt.

Yes, I am almost married for a year to the most wonderful man in the world. Happy and so inlove. NAKS!

Solar Panels

With the increasing demand for more energy, its becoming more and more expensive. Interestingly, we can readily get more energy from a free source - and notingly, its the original source of energy: THE SUN. I am referring to Solar Panels.

Alot of solar panels are now available for us so that we can fully take advantage of the free energy we get from the sun. But check out the P3 Folding Panel Kits of All in Solars. Its Lightweight, Portable and Powerful.

The P3 Folding Panel Kits are ideal for those who require a reliable source of energy for charging 12V batteries. The kits are small and compact, lightweight and sturdy. They don't break if they are dropped, so the user doesn't have to be afraid to handle them. The folding panel kits are environmentally friendly, since there are no obnoxious emissions and they can provide a power source in areas that do not have electricity. The folding panel kit is small enough to be carried in a backpack. The P3 folding panel kit unfolds to expose the solar cells to the sun. The cells are composed of thin film amorphous silicone and the panel is flexible so the panel can be easily mounted on curved surfaces. This is the Power Flex technology with CIGS solar cells. Once the solar cells are exposed to the sun, there is a chemical reaction which results in the generation of DC electricity. In addition to charging batteries, it can also be used to power communications equipment and other kind of electrical equipment.

For more information on the P3 Folding Panel Kit, visit All in Solars now..

Not Feeling Well

Good Morning Bloggers...

I am bummed today. I woke up not feeling well and that means my activities for this day will have to be cancelled.

I was planning to go to the gym early today, then get my paycheck and deposit it together with my husband's paycheck. Then I was thinking of going to shop around to find some items I need (and kind of want) . But I don't think I can still do all these today. See why I am bummed?

Oh well, I will just spend my entire day bonding with my Yorkie Boy. My husband was so caring. He brought my laptop upstairs so I can just lay down on the bed while surfing the net, looked in our medicine cabinet for some pain relievers then handed me the med with a glass of water. How sweet. See why I am crazy about this man? mmmmm

So now I will just ne mellow, lay down and if I feel any better or betterer, I might still go to the bank and deposit our paychecks.

I hope everybosy will enjoy their weekend. AJA!

Medical Equipment Dynamics (MED)

The economic factors are speading fast, and effecting healthcare facilities in different ways. Larger hospitals cannot afford new equipment on such a regular basis. Smaller, rural hospitals are not able to buy upgraded equipment and are stuck with old, antiquated equipment in bad condition. What are the solutions to both types of hospitals?

Medical Equipment Dynamics is able to work with both large and small hospitals to meet each others needs by fitting meeting the needs and financial concerns of both. MED is able to provide larger hospitals with more capital money for decommissioned equipment, turn this used equipment around and provide a high quality, refurbished equipment to smaller rural hospitals in dire need of updated equipment. Large hospitals now get more money for equipment being replaced and the smaller hospitals can obtain newer, used equipment at half the cost.

For more information on how to liquidate surplus equipment, visit MED at www.MedicalEquipmentDynamics.com

Softball League

My stepdaughter joined a local softball league and had her first ever major game last saturday. It was so fun! Though they did not win, I still feel she enjoyed the game. And do you know what made it more enjoyable for her? She was the only one among her teammates to score! hahaha.

It is a league for girls 12 years under. She just turned 13 last month. I guess she is still qualified. Some girls in the league are even taller and bigger that her.

They were scheduled for another game last night but because it was raining monday night, the field is pretty muddy so it was cancelled and is rescheduled on saturday morning. Hope the weather will cooperate.

So its freezing here in the morning! Geezzzz. Its wet and cold. You see the sky so bright then the next thing you know, its gloomy and then...RAIN! oh well, good for California as it rarely rains here.

Update? Still waiting for the tax refund!hahahah

Good Morning Friends...

Fire in the Hole!

Yesterday afternoon, I was unaware that one of the houses in our neighborhood was on fire! yikes!

I went to the gym around 10am and went home to relax then took a shower, as I was going to spend the rest of the afternoon with my husband at the shop. It was a mellow afternoon.

Then around 3pm, I was ready to go, opened the garage door and about to hop in the car when I glanced outside and saw 3 fire trucks, 3 police cars parked near our house! Wooooo!!

It scared me. So being Pinay na usisera by nature, I did my best to discover for myself what was happening (although the presence of fire trucks gave me a hint). And yes, the house that is about 300 meters away from our own house was on fire. One tragedy that would make you consider house insurance.

A Useless Young Man

I know of this young man that I really just don't like. He is a good-for-nothing person. There is no admirable quality in this young man. But I can tell you some of the qualities that I think he possesses - loser, punk, stupid, quitter, disrespectful, temperamental. So tell me, are these qualities worth admiring? I don't think so.

He does nothing except to brag about his "unseen, unproved" talents but honestly, words are cheap, don't you think? You can basically tell me you can dunk the ball like Kobe Byant or run like a roadrunner, etc. But reality knows better. Thats how he is.

I just want to vent. Pardon me and my big mouth but I just have to pour this feeling out.

Good Morning bloggers.

Freezing February

I thought cold season is over! Grrrr

We had a warm January here in CA. So I thought the cold season ended that month. But like this morning, when I woke up, it was freezing! I couldn't get my butt off the bed! We had to turn on the heater again to break the chill. Last night it was raining hail.

I forgot to mention here that last thursday morning, my husband had a "minor" (as he described it) accident at the shop. His tech was trying to bring a ladder (made of iron, I guess) "up to the ceiling" but accidentally dropped the ladder "down to the floor". But not immediately "down to the floor", as it hit my husband's Parietal Lobe (asa ang puyot ba! hay! nosebleed). It bled and left a pretty darn good concussion. So whats so minor about it? I was just so worried about him and at the same time so disappointed with his tech. If only he was more careful. But, like my husband told me, things like that happen and nobody is to be blamed. It was purely an accident. The tech is a really nice guy and one of our brothers in faith. He felt terrible and so worried about my husband.

But bottom line is, he is doing alright now. I told him to be more careful. Of course, he said "yes". hehe.

Good morning bloggers. Have a great week...
